CIA stands for confidentiality, integrity, and availability. These are the principles or strategy for information security.
- Confidentiality. Information can only be accessed by authorized individuals, and also protects the information from improper disclosure.
- Integrity. Systems must ensure that the data or information are not tampered, are trustworthy, and are protected from the modification; information are accurate, authentic, reliable
- Availability. Specific information must be available to users all the time, so the organization must be ready if there’s some internal or external factors that might affect their operations, that also affects the availability of information.
